    Advanced course in Governance of Natural Resources

    This short course will give insight into the governance of natural resources, drawing on different disciplines and theoretical approaches such as political ecology, global value chains, and gender.

    We will discuss the governance of renewable and non-renewable resources such as water, forests and minerals in a globalized world, the associated governance problems (e.g. tragedy of the commons, resource curse, conflict minerals), and the different forms of solutions to these problems that are proposed at the local, national and global level.

    Theories and concepts will be illustrated with case study material from the DR Congo and other African countries. After 26 April students will engage in an action research on a related topic.

  • Appointment of Deans of Faculty

    The Vice-chancellor of the Catholic University has appointed Professor MAGADJU MUHINDO Pacifique, Professor MASIMANGO IMANI Mannix and Professor MUVUNDJA AMISI Fabrice as the new Deans of the Faculty of Law, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Dean of the Faculty of Sciences respectively.

    Professor MAGADJU MUHINDO Pacifique replaces Professor BAHATO BAHAL’OKWIBUYE Christian who served as Dean of Faculty for a 4-year term at the Faculty of Law. Professor MASIMANGO IMANI Mannix replaces Professor CIKOMOLA CIRHUZA Justin who served as Dean of Faculty for a 4-year term at the Faculty of Medicine. As for Professor MUVUNDJA AMISI Fabrice, he will be serving his second term as the Dean of Faculty.

    Each Dean was elected by the Council of their Faculty on July 28, 2023.

    We wish them a successful term.
