Administration Council

This body is responsible for the general administration of the Catholic University of Bukavu, under the leadership of the Chancellor who is the legal representative of the Archdiocese. Initially, its members were the cosigners of the Statutes of the creation of the University but they were designated for a once renewable five-year term in view of their importance for the development of the University.

The Administration Council holds, in compliance with the statutory standards, all the necessary powers to fulfill its functions in order to achieve the objectives of the University, such as the definition of general policy; the proposal to the organizing authority for the appointment of the various actors; establishment, control of budget execution and audit of accounts; the determination of the salaries of the leaders of management and command; body regulations; intervention by decision in the academic aspects of students and administrators; the creation of new course programs; infrastructure issues;…

The members targeted in the Statutes (Article 33) meet twice a year during the May and November sessions. It may, however, be convened for extraordinary sessions.
