CTDGH launches STAIRS project Date 25/09/2023 The Center for Tropical Diseases and Global Health (CTDGH) of the Catholic University of Bukavu launches the STAIRS project. The project launch ceremony took place on Friday September 22, 23 at Institut Français de Bukavu. As part of initiatives to combat the burden and consequences of sepsis in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA), the Sub-Saharan Africa consorTium for the Advancement of Innovative Research and Care in Sepsis (STAIRS), with the support of German-African cooperation is working to improve the quantity and quality of knowledge on the epidemiology, diagnosis and quality of care of sepsis patients in seven SSA countries: Uganda, Ethiopia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Mozambique, Ghana, Sierra Leone and Nigeria. To ensure sustainability of results beyond the grant, STAIRS will implement networking, capacity building in several areas and advocacy for engagement at local, national, regional and global levels.
