DRCONGO: UCB wins the first national eloquence competition Date 09/05/2022 The Catholic University of Bukavu won the first edition of the National Eloquence Competition organized by the French Embassy in Kinshasa on May 7, 2022. Trophy in hand, Gabriel Shadari and Jeannette Simba enrolled in BAC1 at the Faculty of Law returned to Bukavu this May 9, 2022, proud to have validly represented South Kivu Province in a national eloquence competition in Kinshasa after having won the finals at the provincial level at Institut Français de Bukavu. The Embassy of France in DR Congo works for the promotion of the French language at the national level. With “les Débateurs Sans Frontières” (FDSF) Foundation and Excellence Expertise Groupe (EEG), the embassy organized this first edition under the theme of “Francophonie, Culture and Sport”. The first phases were organized in the Bukavu, Goma, Lubumbashi, Kisangani and Kinshasa after the submission of applications by pairs of students from the same university. After a brilliant presentation at the Halle de la Gombe and in front of an international jury, our two students received the best score ranking them top ahead of their colleagues of Université Nouveaux Horizons (Lubumbashi), Université de Goma, Université de Kisangani and Université Protestante du Congo. In accordance with the program announced by the French Embassy, the first two teams will be offered an internship scholarship in France July and August 2022. During their stay in Kinshasa, our students received support and encouragement from families and even better from the University through the General Delegate of Students who was present to the ceremony. Back in Bukavu, they were welcomed at the port by the pedagogical supervisor of the Faculty of Law, Mrs. Bapolisi Odile. The laureates thus enter the circle of the best students who have been promoting the talents of the Catholic University of Bukavu for over twenty years. The Catholic University of Bukavu praises this initiative of the French Embassy, one of its partners through its institute in Bukavu, which highlights the know-how of Congolese students.
