Date 01/09/2020 Comments 0 comment Delegates from the Ministry of Justice on an official visit to South Kivu visited the Catholic University of Bukavu to discuss with students from the Faculty of Law who will be in their final year in 2020-2021 academic year. The objective of this visit was to examine the possibilities of creating a collaborative bridge between the academic world and the progress made in the implementation of justice reform in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This project, led by the Justice and Human Rights unit of the Ministry of Justice, aims to strengthen human rights programs within university institutions in the Democratic Republic of Congo. During this workshop, which brought together more than fifteen second-year pre-bachelor and first-year bachelor students in the Faculty of Law, our visitors focused on the role that Law students are called upon to play in the reform of justice in order to achieve a balanced and independent justice in DR Congo. Hence the need to establish a collaborative link between the country’s academic institutions and the world of justice in order to provide reflections to produce new versions of the national policy on justice reform. At the end of this workshop held at the UCB Center of Excellence, students expressed their satisfaction with the information and knowledge acquired during this discussion session. Remember that this visit was included in the mission of the national ministry of justice to consolidate the Congolese judiciary.
