The Catholic University of Bukavu has a network of partners who offer scholarships to some of its students based on well-defined criteria. The following, are some of the scholarships offered to our students: ETUKIVU The ETUKIVU project was set up by a support group based in Brussels and composed of three goodwill personalities including Professor Xavier Renders, Jean-Louis Pairon and Professor Jean-François Taymans. They teamed up to support the Special Project “Bourses sociales en faveur des étudiants les plus défavorisés de l’Université Catholique de Bukavu” (Social grants for the most disadvantaged students of the Catholic University of Bukavu). The group is committed to providing a minimum support of three thousand euros (€3,000) per year over a period of at least three years from October 15, 2016. Since that date, activities for search of funds that finance the project consist of collections from Belgian donors. The results of this collect allow the support group to award each year 9 scholarships to students who, despite their intellectually proven abilities, have difficulty paying their academic fees. ICHEC Coopération Internationale The Catholic Institute of Higher Commercial Studies (ICHEC) is a Belgian higher education institution, partner of the Catholic University of Bukavu for more than twenty-eight years. ICHEC International Cooperation (ICI), a non-profit association of ICHEC supports development cooperation projects of the Institute. It helps to train young people and for the Catholic University of Bukavu, it grants scholarships to our students living with disabilities. This year, 4 students are beneficiaries of this bursary. Joël BOMBILE Joël BOMBILE is a Congolese living in the USA who is committed to making our Lord Jesus Christ known to students by sharing His love with them. Since November 2014, he has helped a number of bright students who were struggling to cover their academic fees. Four of the five supported by this bursary have completed their studies. FONDS KUMUD KOTECHA The KOTECHA Company, whose one of its agencies is based in Bukavu, has been active for years alongside the Catholic University of Bukavu. It provides scholarships brilliant students from law-income families who are unable to cover the costs of their studies. It is supporting 6 students this year. Association Action pour un Monde Uni (AMU-France) “Action pour un Monde Uni” is a non-profit association for development aid in the world, which has an objective of concretely supporting projects that contribute to the development of people. It has been supporting 2 students since October 2017. Association Universitaire Catholique pour l’Appui au Monde-en-développement (AUCAM) AUCAM is an NGO of the members of the Catholic University of Louvain and its alumni. As part of its project to help young people in the South acquire a university education, scholarship priority is given to the most deserving and most disadvantaged students in the lowliest universities.
