Organized by the Club Economique du Kivu, this activity aimed to empower students and business executives with knowledge that can enable them to carry out their research. The participants acquired knowledge allowing them to write texts in accordance with the standards decreed by the major scientific journals but also to carry out data processing as well as graphic representations without difficulty. Taught by Banza Mukalay and Michael Akilimali, two teaching assistants and scientific researchers, this training gathered 90 participants from various institutions. The majority of the participants came from the Catholic University of Bukavu. Some students from Rwandan and Burundian universities and employees of institutions based in Bukavu attended the training. The Club Economique du Kivu is a structure created in 2011. Its goal is to capacitate students in order to enable them to better understand economic issues and provide innovative solutions to communities’ problems. Within it, several activities are organized each year. These include the organization of conferences and training, the production of radio broadcasts but also the production of a scientific journal specializing in economic issues. A few volunteer students from the Faculty of Economics and Management contribute to its proper functioning.
